Salford Red Devils Target London Broncos Hooker Sam Davis for 2025 Season
Published on Love Rugby League
Salford Red Devils are reportedly interested in acquiring London Broncos hooker Sam Davis for the 2025 season, Love Rugby League can reveal. The 25-year-old is the latest frontline London player who could depart the club at the end of the current Super League campaign, with the Broncos’ relegation to the Championship almost certain.
The unsettled situation in the capital has piqued the interest of multiple Super League clubs, with various players from Mike Eccles’ squad attracting attention. It appears Davis could be the next to sign elsewhere for the 2025 season.
Love Rugby League has learned that Salford, who are seeking a replacement for Hull FC-bound Amir Bourouh, have turned their focus to Davis. The Red Devils already have Joe Mellor and Chris Atkin capable of playing at hooker, but they are keen to bolster their options with a proven first-choice option.
“Davis has featured in all but four of London’s Super League games since the Broncos’ return to the top flight last season, scoring three tries, including two in his last three appearances.”
The hooker has spent his entire career with the Broncos, apart from a brief stint with York Knights in 2022. However, Davis now appears poised to remain in Super League next season, having attracted the attention of the Red Devils. He would become the latest London player to secure a future away from the club in 2025, following in the footsteps of Bill Leyland, who has agreed a deal to join Hull KR, and Oli Leyland, who is reportedly headed to Warrington Wolves.
Wakefield Trinity have already completed a deal to sign Josh Rourke, and Davis could be the next player to depart the Broncos as the club prepares for life back in the Championship next season.
