Rugby League Roundup: Ben Reynolds Faces Two-Game Ban
In a recent development in the rugby league circuit, Ben Reynolds, the Hull KR half-back, has been handed a two-game ban while on dual registration duties for Featherstone Rovers over the weekend. Reynolds, who had signed for Hull KR from Featherstone without playing a league game for the Flat Cappers, has found himself at the center of a controversial move between the two clubs.
Featherstone had previously released a statement outlining that they had “reluctantly” accepted Reynolds’ transfer request, while also confirming that they had received a “significant transfer fee” for the player. Reynolds has only played once so far for the Robins, serving as a back-up behind Tyrone May and Mikey Lewis, and has occasionally headed out to play for Featherstone on dual-registration.
It has now been confirmed that Reynolds has been charged with a Grade C offense for ‘Dissent’, with the two-game ban coming at the higher end of the sanctioning grade. The Match Review Panel’s Minutes reveal that Reynolds had “Disputed using any foul and abusive or aggressive language and/or body language” in Featherstone’s victory over Doncaster.

As a result, Reynolds will miss Super League rounds 9 and 10, with bans handed out in the Championship and League One taking effect a week after being handed down. This means that he would be available to play against Catalans Dragons on Saturday if the Robins called upon him, and equally, he would be available for Featherstone Rovers in their game against the unbeaten Widnes Vikings.
