Castleford Tigers Must-Win Clash Against Hull FC with Duo’s Return

Castleford Tigers Face Must-Win Clash Against Hull FC as Duo Return from Suspension

Castleford Tigers, currently sitting in 10th place in the Super League standings, have a crucial upcoming match against Hull FC, who are just one position and three points behind them in the table. The Tigers, who have had a rocky start to the season, are set to receive a welcome boost as two surprise names have been confirmed to feature in the game.

Horne’s Dangerous Tackle and Suspension

Craig Lingard’s side suffered a disappointing performance last weekend, conceding eight tries in just half an hour after Liam Horne’s dismissal for a dangerous tackle. The referee deemed Horne’s actions to have placed the opponent in a “really, really dangerous position,” leading to a one-match Penalty Notice due to a Grade C Dangerous Throw/Lift charge.

Opportunity to Regroup and Prepare

With no Super League fixtures scheduled for this weekend, the Tigers will have the opportunity to regroup and prepare for their clash against Hull FC. Fortunately, Horne and another previously-overlooked player, Sylvester Namo, will be available for selection. Namo’s five-game ban for a tackle on Willie Isa has kept him out of Castleford’s last four games, but he can now serve the remaining suspension during the upcoming round of reserves’ fixtures.

“This loophole, which has been confirmed by the RFL, has been utilized by Castleford in the past, with players like Kenny Edwards, Liam Watts, and Bureta Faraimo benefitting from it during an international break last year.”

Bolstering the Lineup

The inclusion of Horne and Namo will undoubtedly bolster the Tigers’ lineup as they look to secure a crucial victory against their struggling opponents, Hull FC, who are desperately seeking to turn their fortunes around after a disastrous start to the campaign.
