Doncaster Announce 5 New Signings for 2025 Championship Push

Doncaster Unveil 5 New Signings Ahead of 2025 Championship Push

In a major boost to their 2025 Championship campaign, Doncaster have announced the signing of five new players, including several with significant Super League and international experience.

The club’s big reveal took place at a special event held at the Eco-Power Stadium on Wednesday evening, where Richard Horne’s squad was introduced to the five new additions.

Headlining the Announcement

Headlining the announcement is the arrival of former Hull FC prop Josh Bowden, who departs Wakefield Trinity after three seasons with the promoted Super League club. The 32-year-old made 181 appearances for his boyhood club Hull FC, winning back-to-back Challenge Cup titles in 2016 and 2017.

Experienced Prop Joins the Ranks

Joining Bowden is experienced prop Jordan Baldwinson, who has spent the last three seasons with Bradford Bulls after coming through the ranks at Leeds Rhinos and enjoying a brief spell in the NRL with the New Zealand Warriors.

Super League Pedigree Bolsters the Squad

Another player with Super League pedigree is back-rower Jacob Jones, who has spent the last three seasons with Leigh Leopards, though he spent much of the 2024 campaign on loan at London Broncos.

International Talent Arrives at Doncaster

The Dons have also recruited New Zealand-born hooker Isaac Misky, who has spent the last two seasons in the French Elite One Championship with Saint Gaudens Bears. Misky also has international experience, having captained the Tokelau national team.

Versatile Kumuls Star Joins the Lineup

Rounding out the quintet of new signings is Papua New Guinea international Edene Gebbie, who scored 10 tries in 18 games for Whitehaven in the 2024 Championship season. The versatile Kumuls star, who can play fullback, centre or wing, has previously been part of the NRL systems of South Sydney Rabbitohs and Wests Tigers.

“We’re delighted to welcome these five new signings to Doncaster,” said head coach Richard Horne. “They all bring a wealth of experience and talent that will be crucial as we push for promotion to the Super League in 2025.”
