Rugby League Transfer Drama: Hull FC’s Tex Hoy Offered to Super League Clubs

Rugby League Mid-Season Transfer: Hull FC Fullback Tex Hoy Offered to Super League Sides

In a surprising turn of events, Hull FC fullback Tex Hoy could be set for a dramatic mid-season exit from the club, as Love Rugby League can reveal his rugby league services have been offered to various Super League sides.

Hoy, who has featured in all but one of Hull’s eight league and cup games this season, may now be departing the MKM Stadium, with reports suggesting he has been offered a route out of the club with immediate effect.

Love Rugby League has been informed that several top-flight rugby league teams have been made aware that Hoy is available for a mid-season transfer, as his existing deal at Hull FC is set to expire at the end of the current campaign.

The 23-year-old fullback signed a two-year contract with Hull at the start of last season and has been a regular fixture in the Black and Whites’ lineup since arriving at the beginning of 2023. However, an early exit from that agreement now appears increasingly likely.

In terms of potential rugby league betting options for Hoy, his choices in Super League may be limited, as only two clubs currently have space on their overseas quota to accommodate the Australian. One of those, Warrington Wolves, would almost immediately be ruled out given the impressive form of Matt Dufty this season.

The other option could be newly-promoted London Broncos, who would offer Hoy regular rugby league action for the remainder of this season at the highest level and potentially give him a chance to showcase his skills to other clubs.

Alternatively, Hoy could theoretically drop down to the Championship, with a number of clubs making no secret of their desire to spend big and compete in the division this year. However, it remains to be seen whether the talented fullback would be willing to move out of Super League at this stage of his rugby league career.

A return to Australia is also a possibility if a release is agreed with Hull FC, but one thing appears increasingly clear – no matter where Hoy goes next, he looks certain to have played his last game for the Black and Whites.
