Rugby League Enthusiasts Rejoice as London Broncos Strengthen Squad
In a move that has rugby league fans buzzing, the London Broncos have secured the permanent signing of France international hooker Ugo Tison from fellow Super League club Catalans Dragons. The 22-year-old, who can also play half-back, initially joined the Broncos on a one-month loan deal in April, but has now committed to the club for the remainder of the season.
Tison has already made a significant impact, featuring in five games for the Broncos since his arrival, including their recent victory over Hull FC. This addition bolsters the Broncos’ squad as they look to build momentum in their return to the Super League.
Alongside the Tison signing, the Broncos have also extended the loan of Leigh Leopards forward Jacob Jones for the rest of the season. The 25-year-old back-rower, who came through the junior system at Midlands Hurricanes before joining the Broncos’ academy, has already made 10 appearances for London this season, starting eight of them.
“We’d like to thank Harvey for his efforts and wish him all the best for the future. We also appreciate Leigh Leopards for allowing Jacob to continue his development here in London,” – London Broncos’ Head Coach, Mike Eccles.
However, the Broncos have bid farewell to Harvey Makin, who has returned to his parent club Wigan Warriors following his loan spell with the London club. The young prop made six appearances for the Broncos and also enjoyed a five-match loan stint in the Championship with Barrow Raiders.
The Broncos’ recent victory over Hull FC has provided a much-needed boost, as they look to build on their first win upon their return to the Super League. Eccles’ side, who are level on points with Hull in the table, will aim to continue their momentum when they host Hull KR in the capital on Sunday afternoon.
As the rugby league season heats up, the London Broncos’ strategic squad additions and continued development of young talent have left their supporters eagerly anticipating the team’s upcoming matches.
