Leeds Rhinos Injury Woes: Squad Depleted for Hull FC Showdown

Leeds Rhinos Grapple with Injury-Induced Squad Woes Ahead of Hull FC Clash

The Leeds Rhinos’ recent Super League form has taken a concerning nosedive, culminating in a heavy defeat against the Huddersfield Giants. Their backline has been particularly hard-hit, with key players Harry Newman and David Fusitu’a sustaining injuries during the match, throwing the squad into disarray.

The Rhinos’ woes have continued, as star winger Ash Handley is still sidelined with a rib injury sustained in the loss against the Warrington Wolves. Adding to their growing concerns, second-rowers James Bentley and Morgan Gannon remain indefinitely sidelined due to head injuries.

As a result of these mounting injury issues, Leeds have named a severely depleted 21-man squad for their upcoming clash against the struggling Hull FC on Sunday.

In a testament to their depth challenges, the Rhinos have included no fewer than five teenagers, two of whom could make their debut appearances for the club.

19-year-old Jack Sinfield, with 11 Super League appearances under his belt, is the most experienced of the young contingent. Alfie Edgell and Ned McCormack have also earned opportunities, having impressed in recent outings. The potential debutants are Riley Lumb and Ben Littlewood, with the latter set to don the number 32 shirt.

However, the Rhinos did receive some positive news, with prop Tom Holroyd available to boost their forward pack after clearing the return-to-play protocols following a head knock. His inclusion will be a welcome addition as Leeds look to navigate their injury crisis and secure a much-needed victory against Hull FC.
