Is Adrian Lam a Strong Contender for South Sydney Rabbitohs’ Head Coach Role?

Legendary Commentator Suggests Adrian Lam Could Replace Jason Demetriou as South Sydney Rabbitohs Coach

Legendary rugby league commentator Andrew Voss has suggested that Adrian Lam could be a contender to replace Jason Demetriou as head coach of the South Sydney Rabbitohs.

The Bunnies officially parted ways with Demetriou on Tuesday following a series of board meetings that led to the former Wakefield Trinity player being dismissed after a difficult start to the new NRL season. Souths have won just one game from their opening seven matches so far in 2024.

Ben Hornby has been placed in interim charge for the remainder of this season, but Voss believes Lam could be in the running to become the Bunnies’ coach from 2025. The commentator noted that South Sydney football manager Mark Ellison is reportedly set to travel to England, potentially to finalize the signing of Lewis Dodd, but also suggested Lam might be another target on Ellison’s mind.

Voss praised Lam’s credentials, highlighting his success with the Leigh Leopards as a statement of his readiness for an Australian coaching gig. The commentator believes Lam has “runs on the board” and could be a strong contender for the Rabbitohs job.
