Hull KR Signs Jack Brown from Hull FC: Immediate Impact on Front Row

Hull KR Secure Immediate Signing of Jack Brown from Rivals Hull FC

In a surprising move, Hull KR have secured the services of Jack Brown, who joins the club with immediate effect from crosstown rivals Hull FC. The 23-year-old front rower has signed a two-and-a-half-year deal and will be available for this weekend’s fixture against Warrington Wolves.

“I’m buzzing. Coming early wasn’t something I expected but it was an opportunity I couldn’t turn down. Willie [Peters] sold me the club straight away. Hull KR is in a great spot and hopefully that continues. I’m looking forward to getting stuck in with the boys and learning all I can to develop my own game and help the team.”

The move means a return to his boyhood club for Brown, who made 66 Super League appearances and scored five tries during his time with Hull FC, including a try-scoring debut against Catalans Dragons in 2019.

Hull KR Head Coach Praises New Signing

Hull KR Head Coach, Willie Peters, praised the young forward, saying:

“Jack was a local junior and comes from a family of Hull KR fans. We’re glad we’ve had the opportunity to welcome Jack back home. Jack is a young front rower with his best years ahead of him. He possesses good footwork with a strong offload game and he’s hard to handle with the ball. Jack’s aggressive in defence and has plenty of upside to his game. I’m looking forward to working with Jack as he develops at Hull KR over the next two and a half years and beyond.”

Swap Deal with Hull FC

In a swap deal, Yusuf Aydin has joined Hull FC on loan for the rest of 2024, before starting a permanent deal with the Black and Whites. Peters expressed his gratitude for Aydin’s contributions, stating:

“I’d like to thank Yusuf Aydin for his contribution to the club over the last 18 months. Yusuf has been a great teammate and a pleasure to coach. We wish him all the best for the future.”
