Hull Kingston Rovers have received a significant boost as they’ve secured a new long-term contract with one of their most promising Academy products, Louix Gorman. The 19-year-old, who can play as a centre or full-back, is poised to play a crucial role in the Robins’ future plans.

Gorman is part of a talented crop of youngsters coming through the ranks at Craven Park, with the likes of Zach Fishwick, Leo Tennison, Lennie Ellis, Harvey Moore, Connor Barley, and Harvey Horne all making the step up to the first-team squad. However, the club’s Head of Youth, Jason Netherton, believes Gorman is among the most exciting prospects within the system.

The Hull-born, Beverley-raised player joined the Robins’ Scholarship program and has flourished through the Academy and Reserve sides. Gorman made his Super League debut for Hull KR against Wigan Warriors last August, and the club now views him as a potential long-term solution at full-back. His versatility, reading of the game, and impressive goal-kicking ability have led to the Robins mapping out a clear pathway for the teenager to become a regular in the first team over the next couple of years.
Dual-Registration Experience and Family Connection
The young gun’s progression has been aided by a spell on dual-registration with Featherstone Rovers in the Championship, where he has gained valuable experience playing against seasoned professionals. Netherton believes this experience, combined with the full-time training regime at Hull KR, will set Gorman up for sustained success at the highest level.
Furthermore, Gorman’s family connection is also a source of excitement, as his younger brother, Alex, is currently part of the Robins’ Scholarship program and is tipped to be an even more promising prospect in the years to come.
