Hull FC Ends Losing Streak with Victory Against Leeds Rhinos

Hull FC Secures First Super League Victory Since March, Defeating Leeds Rhinos 18-10

Hull, UK, April 16th, 2023 – In a hard-fought encounter at the MKM Stadium, Hull FC secured their first Super League victory since March, defeating an uninspired Leeds Rhinos side 18-10. This win ended the Black and Whites’ run of 11 consecutive losses across all competitions.

Hull’s last Super League triumph came against the league’s bottom side, the London Broncos. However, their recent performances under interim head coach Simon Grix have shown a general trend of improvement, and their victory over Leeds was well deserved.

The Black and Whites are set for a major rebuild in the off-season, with the appointment of new head coach John Cartwright. Cartwright will have a much-changed squad to work with, as the club is expected to make several high-profile signings, including the already confirmed John Asiata and Jordan Abdull.

Jake Trueman as a player who has yet to deliver his best football in the Black and White jersey,” said Sky Sports pundit Jon Wilkin. Trueman joined the Airlie Birds on a three-year deal before the 2023 season but has struggled with injury.

However, former FC coach Tony Smith praised Trueman’s performance in the victory over Leeds, where he was named man of the match. Smith highlighted Trueman’s vision and ability to read the play as his strongest qualities, stating that he “brings a calmness to everybody” on the field.

Hull FC will look to build on their victory over Leeds when they host Warrington Wolves in their next Super League fixture, hoping to capitalize on their momentum and secure another crucial win.
