Castleford Tigers and Wigan Warriors Unveil 21-Man Squads Ahead of Super League Clash
As the Super League season reaches a crucial juncture, the head coaches of Castleford Tigers and Wigan Warriors have announced their respective 21-man squads for their upcoming clash on Friday. The two sides met just last week, with Wigan securing a commanding 60-6 victory at Wheldon Road, and they now prepare to face off for the third time this season.
Wigan Warriors Lineup
Wigan Warriors, riding a wave of impressive form, are expected to field a near full-strength lineup once again. However, they will be without the services of Willie Isa, who suffered a significant injury during the second half of last week’s encounter. In his stead, Mike Cooper returns from injury to join the Warriors’ star-studded roster, which includes the likes of Bevan French and Jake Wardle.
Castleford Tigers Lineup
In contrast, Castleford Tigers find themselves dealing with a considerable injury crisis, with almost half of their squad currently sidelined. The Tigers have been able to name only a 19-man squad for this fixture, a reduction from the standard 21. Key absences include George Lawler, Luke Hooley, Muizz Mustapha, and Jason Qareqare, while Sylvester Namo will also miss the next five games following a decision at the Operational Rules Tribunal.
Despite the challenges, Castleford will welcome the addition of new recruit Louis Senior, who could make his debut for the club alongside his brother, Innes. The Tigers have also made a few other changes to their squad, with Joe Westerman and Luis Johnson dropping out, and Sam Hall and Liam Watts returning to the fold.
“As the two teams gear up for another highly anticipated clash, fans can expect an intense and closely contested encounter, with both sides determined to secure a crucial victory in the race for Super League supremacy.”
