Hull FC Confirm Release of Three Senior Players, Total Exits Now 18 for 2024 Campaign
In a decisive move, Hull FC have announced the immediate release of Morgan Smith, Liam Tindall, and Jack Walker from their contracts. The three senior players will now be able to “pursue opportunities elsewhere,” as the club seeks to reshape its roster ahead of the 2024 season.
This latest development takes the total number of exits from the MKM Stadium up to 18 since the end of the 2024 campaign. The trio join a growing list of high-profile departures, including Cam Scott, Jake Trueman (both to Wakefield Trinity), Danny Houghton (retirement), Carlos Tuimavave, Liam Sutcliffe (Huddersfield Giants), and Mitieli Vulikijapani.
Additionally, several promising youngsters, such as Charlie Severs, Sully Medforth (Midlands Hurricanes), Lennon Bursell, Jeylan Hodgson, and Macca Harman (all to Goole Vikings), have also bid farewell to the club at the end of the 2024 season. The club also saw the conclusion of loan spells for Tiaki Chan, King Vuniyayawa, Leon Ruan, and Sam Eseh.
In their brief statement, Hull FC wished all three departing players “the very best of luck for their futures in the sport and beyond.” Smith, Tindall, and Walker combined for 43 appearances for the Black and Whites in 2024, with each player spending just a single season at the club.
This latest round of roster changes comes as the club’s new owners’ combined wealth has been revealed, with more details on the consortium’s plans for the future. Additionally, the club’s recruitment for the 2025 season has been praised, with Hull FC being among the standout performers in the Super League transfer market.
