Lee Kershaw’s London Broncos Journey and Rugby League Passion

Rugby League Star Lee Kershaw Embraces London Broncos Experience

London, 2024 – Lee Kershaw, the talented rugby league player, has paid a heartfelt tribute to the London Broncos, expressing his immense enjoyment of the experience both on and off the field during his time with the club.

Kershaw, who was relegated with Wakefield Trinity in 2023, found a new opportunity with the newly-promoted London Broncos, signing a one-year deal for the 2024 season following a successful trial. The 25-year-old, hailing from Bradford, had never played for any club other than Wakefield before, with his only other experience being loan spells at Oldham.

Kershaw, who has missed just two of the Broncos’ Super League games this season and scored five tries, has embraced the move to the capital, saying, “I’ve really enjoyed it. We’ve got a couple of Northerners in the group like Rourkey (Josh Rourke) and Robbie (Storey), and I live with Robbie. It’s not much of a clique because we all get along really well as a squad.”

Despite the Broncos’ initial low-grading by IMG, which essentially condemned them to relegation at the end of the 2024 season, Kershaw and his teammates have never given up in their quest to avoid finishing bottom. Their recent win over Hull FC at Magic Weekend has moved them level on competition points with the Black and Whites, with five rounds of the campaign remaining.

However, Kershaw acknowledges that the club’s drop back down to the second tier will likely see him depart, as he aims to continue playing at the highest level. “I want to play in Super League, I want to play at the best level, even if that means I’ve got to earn my spot (in a team) again,” he said.

Kershaw, who will make his 100th career appearance on Sunday when the Broncos host Leigh Leopards at Plough Lane, has expressed his gratitude for the opportunity provided by the London Broncos and his determination to continue improving, regardless of where his future may lie.
