Rugby League Round 15 Recap: Sneyd Maintains Man of Steel Lead
Following the completion of Round 15 in the Super League, the latest Man of Steel points have been awarded. Throughout the campaign so far, Salford Red Devils’ Marc Sneyd has maintained his position at the top of the leaderboard, with Leigh Leopards’ Matt Moylan, Hull KR’s Mikey Lewis, and Salford’s Nene Macdonald close behind him in the standings.
The round’s action kicked off at Wheldon Road, where the spirited Castleford Tigers nearly pulled off a shock result before falling 13-12 to Hull KR. Jez Litten’s boot earned him maximum points, while Cain Robb and Rowan Milnes also received recognition for their contributions.
Wigan Warriors cruised to a 36-0 victory over London Broncos at the Brick Community Stadium, with Jack Farrimond grabbing a trio of Man of Steel points for his outstanding display, which included two tries and six conversions.
An emotional night followed at Headingley, as the Leeds Rhinos honored the life of Rob Burrow with a victory over Leigh Leopards. Brodie Croft’s inspirational performance earned him three points, while Matt Moylan’s efforts for the Leopards were rewarded with two points, and Lachie Miller collected one point for the Rhinos.
In the clash between Hull FC and Warrington Wolves, the Wolves secured a narrow 24-18 win, thanks in large part to Matt Dufty’s late, spectacular try. Dufty was awarded maximum points, with George Williams taking two points and Denive Balmforth earning one point for Hull FC.
The Catalans Dragons held on to defeat the Huddersfield Giants 22-18, with Catalans captain Ben García taking three points, Luke Yates receiving two points for Huddersfield, and Matt Ikuvalu earning one point.
The final game of the round saw Salford Red Devils complete a league double over St Helens, winning 20-18. Joe Mellor’s standout performance earned him the maximum points, while Curtis Sironen and Nene Macdonald also received recognition.
