Hull FC’s Dismal Losing Streak Continues as Castleford Triumph
Hull FC’s woes continued on Friday as they suffered their tenth consecutive defeat, falling 30-22 to Castleford Tigers in a Super League clash at the Jungle. This extended run of losses is only the second-worst in the club’s entire history, surpassed only by a 13-game skid over the 2018-19 season.
The Black and Whites have now lost seven or more games in a row on four occasions this century, with three of those coming in the last two seasons alone. Their sole victory this year came in the third game against London Broncos, when a late try from Morgan Smith secured a dramatic 28-24 win at the MKM Stadium. However, the Broncos exacted revenge earlier this month when the two sides met in the capital.
“Friday’s defeat at the hands of Castleford marked the tenth successive loss for Simon Grix’s Hull FC side, leaving them still searching for a much-needed second win of the 2024 campaign. Despite a late rally, the visitors were thoroughly outplayed by the Tigers, adding another unwanted chapter to the club’s dismal recent history.”
