Rugby League Scorers Nearing Records in Super League Round 12 – Sky Sports Update

Rugby League Scorers Closing in on Records as Super League Round 12 Approaches

As the Super League season progresses into Round 12, several notable wingers are inching closer to prestigious try-scoring milestones. Veteran players Ryan Hall, Josh Charnley, and Tommy Makinson are all poised to make their mark in the record books this weekend.

Ryan Hall, the 36-year-old Hull KR flyer, finds himself just one try away from equaling Danny McGuire as Super League’s all-time top try-scorer. Hall’s next score will tie him with the former Leeds Rhinos star at 247 tries. Additionally, if Hall manages to find the try-line twice or more against London Broncos, he will also surpass ex-Wigan Warriors player Shaun Edwards as the third-highest try-scorer in British rugby league history.

Leigh Leopards winger Josh Charnley, currently third on the Super League all-time try-scorers list with 238 four-pointers, has the opportunity to make a further dent in the record books. In the Leopards’ clash with Huddersfield Giants, Charnley will look to score at least two tries, which would see him equal Maurice Richards for 31st place on the overall British rugby league try-scoring chart.

Meanwhile, St Helens stalwart Tommy Makinson is closing in on a personal milestone. The departing winger’s next try for the club will be his 200th for the Red V, a testament to his loyalty and prolific scoring. Makinson can potentially draw level with former Warrington Wolves star Ryan Atkins for seventh place in the Super League all-time try-scorers list if he manages a hat-trick against Leeds.

“As the rugby league world keeps a close eye on these intriguing records, fans can expect an exciting weekend of try-scoring exploits from these seasoned wingers.”
