Salford Red Devils Eyeing Huddersfield Giants Centre Esan Marsters for 2025 Transfer
Salford Red Devils have identified Huddersfield Giants centre Esan Marsters as a potential target for the 2025 season, Love Rugby League can reveal. The 27-year-old has been one of the standout centres in Super League this year, forming a formidable partnership with teammate Adam Swift.
“Despite Huddersfield’s desire to retain Marsters, whose contract expires at the end of the current campaign, Salford are prepared to table a significant offer to secure the services of the Cook Islands international. The Red Devils view Marsters as a key addition to Paul Rowley’s squad plans for 2025 and beyond.”
Marsters has been instrumental to Huddersfield’s success this season, with four tries and five assists to his name. He is the second-highest metre-maker in the whole of Super League, trailing only Matt Dufty, and has become an integral part of the Giants’ playing style.
The potential move for Marsters could be influenced by the future of current Salford centre Tim Lafai. Love Rugby League previously reported that Lafai was a target for Hull FC, though Salford are yet to receive a formal bid for the Samoan international. With Lafai set to turn 33 and Marsters just 27, the Red Devils may see the latter as a long-term replacement, provided they receive a suitable transfer fee for Lafai.
Securing the signature of Marsters would represent a significant coup for Salford, given the player’s impressive performances this season. The team will be eager to bolster their squad for the 2025 campaign and beyond, and Marsters appears to be a top priority target.
