Will Pryce Set to Make NRL Debut for Newcastle Knights
Newcastle Knights’ young playmaker Will Pryce is poised to make his long-awaited debut in Australia’s National Rugby League (NRL) this weekend. The 22-year-old former Huddersfield Giants star has had to bide his time since making the off-season switch to the Knights, featuring predominantly in the New South Wales Cup competition so far in 2024.
However, speculation surrounding Pryce’s imminent NRL bow intensified last week when he was withdrawn from the Knights’ NSW Cup side, hinting that head coach Adam O’Brien was ready to hand him his top-flight debut. That speculation has now been confirmed, with Pryce set to partner another ex-Super League standout, Jackson Hastings, in the halves against Parramatta on Saturday.
Pryce’s Inclusion Aimed at Boosting Knights’ Attack
Pryce’s inclusion in the Knights’ lineup comes as the club looks to inject some much-needed spark into their attack, which has struggled in recent weeks. The young Englishman will be joined in the team by fellow British talent Kai Pearce-Paul, who returns from injury to provide a timely boost for Newcastle.
“Newcastle legend Andrew Johns has been a vocal advocate for Pryce’s NRL opportunity, and the playmaker’s debut will be a landmark moment for the latest in a long line of Englishmen to grace the top tier of Australian rugby league.”
