Wigan Warriors Dominate Injury-Ravaged Castleford Tigers in Convincing Victory
Wigan, 7 April 2024 – In their latest encounter, the Wigan Warriors secured a resounding 36-14 victory over the injury-hit Castleford Tigers at the DW Stadium. This marks Wigan’s ninth win in 10 matches across all competitions so far in 2024, with Matt Peet’s side having lost just one game since last July.
The Warriors showcased a number of impressive individual performances, with several players standing out for the home team. Bevan French was in scintillating form, scoring the opening try and providing two assists, including a stunning cut-out pass to Liam Marshall. Marshall himself bagged a brace, taking his tally to 15 tries in just nine games this season.
Ryan Hampshire also enjoyed a productive outing, scoring twice and surpassing the 500-point milestone in his Super League career. Meanwhile, Harry Smith guided the Warriors around the field with efficiency, producing a magnificent chip kick for Marshall’s try and impressing with his kicking game.
In the pack, the towering Junior Nsemba proved to be a handful for the Castleford defence, while Liam Farrell once again delivered a consistent and influential performance. The Warriors’ bench also made a solid impact, with the returning Mike Cooper and the powerful Patrick Mago providing valuable contributions.
“It was a comprehensive team performance from the Wigan Warriors, who continue to demonstrate their title-winning credentials as the season progresses.”
