Warrington Wolves Dominate Huddersfield Giants in Challenge Cup Semifinals
In a convincing performance, Warrington Wolves defeated Huddersfield Giants 46-10 in the Challenge Cup semifinals, securing their trip to Wembley. Warrington’s Sam Burgess-led side dominated the match from start to finish, leaving Huddersfield Giants’ hopes of returning to the final for the first time since 2022 and winning their first Challenge Cup since 1953 unfulfilled.
Warrington’s fast start sealed the game’s outcome, with three tries in the opening 20 minutes setting the tone. Huddersfield Giants were unable to recover, despite tries from Adam Swift and Kevin Naiqama preventing a whitewash.
“Adding to Huddersfield’s woes, their star signing Adam Swift was forced off the field in the second half due to a groin injury. Head coach Ian Watson expressed concern over the seriousness of the injury, as the medical team had initially cleared Swift to play.”
Furthermore, Huddersfield’s Jake Connor was shown a yellow card for striking out towards the face after a scuffle, leaving Watson to have a word with his starting full-back.
Warrington’s dominant display means they will return to Wembley, a familiar stage for the club, while Huddersfield Giants’ wait for Challenge Cup glory continues.
