Warrington Wolves Resting Key Players for Hull FC Match
Warrington Wolves coach Sam Burgess has confirmed that forward duo James Harrison and Jordy Crowther will be rested for Friday’s game against Hull FC. Despite the absence of these two players, the team will be boosted by the return of Zane Musgrove, who is recovering from an ankle injury.
The Wire will still be without winger Matty Ashton, who is sidelined due to a toe injury that kept him out of last Saturday’s 17-12 defeat at Salford. Burgess acknowledged that Harrison and Crowther have been playing above their weight for the past few weeks and have picked up some minor niggles, so the team is giving them a break.
“Zane is back this week, he will play. Max Wood will play this week,” said Burgess ahead of the match against Hull FC.
The coach also discussed the injury to young half-back Leon Hayes, who suffered a fracture dislocation of his ankle in last week’s defeat. Hayes will undergo surgery this week, and Burgess is confident that the club will do everything to support him during his recovery process.
Burgess praised Hayes’ resilience and the support he has received from his family, expressing his admiration for the 20-year-old’s attitude. The coach is hopeful that Hayes will find ways to stay engaged in his rehabilitation, and the team will ensure he is in the best possible shape once he is back on his feet and ready to resume his recovery program.
