Rugby League News: Warrington Wolves Prepare for the 2025 Season
As the 2025 Super League campaign approaches, the Warrington Wolves are actively engaged in their offseason preparations, with recruitment and retention being a key focus. While the club may not be as busy as some of their counterparts, they have already secured one notable signing and are reportedly eyeing several other off-contract players who could bolster their squad.
One area of interest for the Wolves could be in the outside backs, with the impending departure of Matty Russell and the off-contract status of long-serving Stefan Ratchford. In this regard, Lee Kershaw of the London Broncos could be a target, given his impressive performances this season and the potential for him to make the step up to the top flight.
Additionally, the Wolves may be in the market for a new center, with Esan Marsters of the Huddersfield Giants potentially fitting the bill. Marsters has demonstrated his ability to perform at the highest level and could provide the punch and strike that the Warrington backline seeks.
In the pack, the Wolves may be interested in reinforcing their front-row, and Leigh Leopards prop Tom Amone could be an enticing option. Amone has established himself as one of the best in the competition and would undoubtedly be of interest to the Wolves, who have the advantage of quota spots to work with.
Another player that could be on the Warrington radar is Paul Seguier of the Catalans Dragons. The versatile forward has become a key figure in the Dragons squad and, at just 26 years old, could be an excellent addition to the Wolves’ roster.
Finally, the signing of Huddersfield Giants captain Luke Yates appears to be progressing, and this move would undoubtedly bolster the Warrington pack with the addition of one of Super League’s most consistent and reliable forwards.
As the offseason unfolds, the Warrington Wolves will no doubt continue to be active in the transfer market, as they look to assemble a squad capable of challenging for honors in the 2025 season.
