George Williams’ Masterclass Pushes Warrington Wolves to Super League Summit
Warrington Wolves climbed to the top of the Rugby League Super League table, albeit briefly, thanks to an impressive 34-8 victory over Leeds Rhinos at Headingley. The star of the show was half-back George Williams, who produced a masterful performance for the Wolves.
The England rugby league captain terrorized the Rhinos defense throughout the 80 minutes, proving instrumental in Warrington’s attacking play. The 29-year-old Williams scored a try and provided an assist, making 102 meters from 23 carries and busting three tackles. Defensively, he also made an impressive 22 tackles.

Castleford Tigers Secure First Win of 2024 Rugby League Season
Ahead of their Friday night clash, few would have backed Castleford Tigers to overcome visitors Salford Red Devils. However, the Tigers defied the odds, running out 36-24 winners in front of a jubilant Jungle crowd.
The victory was a much-needed boost for Castleford coach Craig Lingard, whose side had started the 2024 Rugby League Super League season with six consecutive defeats. Winger Innes Senior starred for the hosts, scoring four tries, while Brad Martin and Sam Hall also crossed the whitewash.
The result will no doubt provide a sigh of relief for Castleford, who have now registered their first points of the Super League campaign. The Tigers will look to build on this momentum as they prepare to face reigning champions Wigan Warriors in the Challenge Cup quarter-finals next weekend.

Elsewhere on Friday night, Hull KR continued their impressive Rugby League Super League run, thrashing winless London Broncos 50-10 at Sewell Group Craven Park. The Robins ran in nine tries in the one-sided encounter, with Matt Parcell scoring a hat-trick and James Batchelor grabbing a brace.
Hull KR’s fifth win in their last seven Super League matches has seen them climb to third in the table, as momentum builds under coach Willie Peters. The Robins will be looking to carry this form into next weekend’s Challenge Cup quarter-final clash with Leigh Leopards.
The comprehensive victory over the struggling Broncos represents a positive rugby league results for Hull KR, who are gathering significant steam as the 2024 season progresses.
