Super League Transfer Rumors: Catalans Dragons Make Major Moves

The Super League Set for Another Pause as Transfer Market Remains Active

The Super League season is set for another pause after this weekend’s round of fixtures, with the stage set for England’s mid-season international against France. However, the market for player transfers shows no sign of slowing down, with a number of major deals in the pipeline. This week has seen a flurry of rumored moves, as several Super League clubs look to bolster their squads.

Leeds Rhinos swooped for Sam Eseh on loan but missed out on a short-term deal for Huddersfield Giants’ Jake Connor. Meanwhile, Franklin Pele left Hull FC, only to immediately join the Bradford Bulls later in the day. Super League sides also missed out on reported targets from the NRL, as Damien Cook and Adam Doueihi signed deals that took them off the market for 2025.

“According to a Sky Sports pundit, the Catalans Dragons are set to complete a double transfer swoop that will significantly strengthen their side for the upcoming season.”

Speaking ahead of the Castleford Tigers versus Hull KR clash, Sky Sports analyst Jenna Brooks revealed that the Dragons are close to finalizing the signings of Elliot Whitehead and Luke Keary. Whitehead, a former Dragons player, is set to return to Perpignan, while Keary, an Australian Test international and State of Origin representative, will join the club on a two-year deal.

The news is a significant boost for the struggling Catalans Dragons, who had a disappointing season last year and have yet to find their rhythm in the current campaign. Whitehead’s return and Keary’s arrival will undoubtedly bolster the club’s attacking prowess and provide much-needed stability as they look to bounce back in the 2025 Super League season.
