“I think there’s been a small little bit of interest, to be honest. But nothing that we can do this week. Obviously, he’s in our squad, we’re going to Catalans, we’re flying tomorrow morning. There’s nothing that we could do this week,” said Huddersfield head coach, Ian Watson.
However, Watson did not rule out the possibility of a deal being made in the coming weeks, indicating that Connor’s playing time will be a key factor in any potential move.
This weekend, Huddersfield Giants have the opportunity to move level with Leeds Rhinos, and just two points behind the league-leading Catalans Dragons, if they can secure a victory away in the South of France. Meanwhile, Leeds Rhinos will host the Leigh Leopards, and a win for Leigh would move them within a single point of the Rhinos.
The ongoing struggles of these two rugby league powerhouses have certainly piqued the interest of fans and pundits alike, as they look to regain their footing and mount a challenge for the top positions in the Super League.
