Clubs Reveal Off-Contract Players Not Retained for 2025
As the May 1st deadline for official contract negotiations passed, several Super League clubs have announced the players they will not be retaining for the 2025 season. This list of off-contract stars has caught the attention of rival teams, who will now be vying to secure their signatures.
Among the notable names on the list are Leigh Leopards’ centre Ricky Leutele, Hull KR hooker Matt Parcell, and Wigan Warriors’ forwards Mike Cooper and Willie Isa. The list was circulated to all Super League clubs, informing them of the respective contract statuses of each player.
“While some high-profile names like Tommy Makinson and Tom Johnstone have already been reported to have secured deals with new clubs, the list also includes several players whose futures remain undetermined.”
The focus is on the eleven players who have been deemed surplus to requirements by their current teams. Interestingly, only three Super League clubs have publicly confirmed that they will not be offering new contracts to these players, while the remaining nine clubs have yet to determine the status of their off-contract players.
The eleven players who will not be part of their current clubs’ plans for the 2025 season are:
- Hull KR:
- Harvey Moore (Utility Back, 20)
- Louis Senior (Winger, 23)
- Matt Parcell (Hooker, 31)
- Reiss Butterworth (Hooker, 25)
These players will now be targets for other Super League clubs as they look to bolster their rosters for the upcoming season.
