Expiring Contracts Revealed: Top Players Set to Hit the Rugby League Market
On May 3rd, the Rugby Football League (RFL) circulated the list of players whose contracts are set to expire at the end of the current Super League season. This exclusive report from Love Rugby League reveals the names of several high-profile players who have not yet been offered new deals by their respective clubs for the 2025 campaign.
Among the notable players on this list are Hull KR’s Matt Parcell, whose time with the Rovers could be drawing to a close. Teammates Harvey Moore, Louis Senior, and Reiss Butterworth are also included in the group without contract offers. Leigh Centurions have decided against renewing the deals of five players, including Ricky Leutele and Ed Chamberlain, the latter of whom recently cut short a loan spell at Hull FC.
“The publication of this list gives players who have not received new offers the opportunity to explore their options on the open market, potentially drawing interest from other Super League teams.”
Wigan Warriors are also set to part ways with experienced duo Mike Cooper and Willie Isa, as their contracts have not been extended. Isa’s potential departure would mark the end of his nine-year tenure at the Brick Community Stadium, during which he has won numerous domestic titles with the club.
The coming months are set to be a pivotal period for the futures of these high-profile names, as the uncertainty surrounding their contract situations could lead to significant changes in the rugby league landscape.
