Clubs Intensify Recruitment Ahead of 2025 Super League Season
As the 2025 season approaches, Super League clubs are intensifying their recruitment efforts, making their current quota situations increasingly intriguing for rugby league enthusiasts. Each club is allowed seven overseas players on their roster, and the majority of Super League clubs have already maxed out this quota as the season’s end in May draws near. Let’s take a closer look at the quota situation for every club.
Castleford Tigers
Castleford Tigers have filled their seven quota spots, signing Lebanese international Elie El-Zakhem and the Papua New Guinea duo of Nixon Putt and Sylvester Namo. They also made a mid-season change, replacing Albert Vete with Tex Hoy. (Castleford Tigers make Tex Hoy decision as recruitment plans outlined)
Catalans Dragons
The 2023 Grand Finalists, Catalans Dragons, have brought in three new signings from the NRL – Tariq Sims, Jayden Nikorima, and Bayley Sironen – as well as prop Chris Satae from Hull FC. Tonga’s Siosiua Taukeiaho was linked with an NRL return but ultimately remained with the Dragons.
Huddersfield Giants

Hull KR
Hull KR, on the other hand, have maxed out their quota, signing Peta Hiku, Tyrone May, Jai Whitbread, and Kelepi Tanginoa ahead of the new season.
Leeds Rhinos
The Leeds Rhinos have been busy in the transfer market, bringing in Lachie Miller, Matt Frawley, and Paul Momirovski from the NRL, as well as Salford’s Brodie Croft and Andy Ackers.
Leigh Leopards
The Challenge Cup winners, the Leigh Leopards, have also filled their quota for 2024, including the signing of former Australia half-back Matt Moylan on a two-year deal. However, they could see significant turnover this off-season, with several key players’ contracts expiring.
London Broncos
The London Broncos have one quota spot remaining, having signed Rhys Kennedy and Jack Campagnolo, while Salford Red Devils have filled their seven quota spots, including the addition of David Nofoaluma.
St Helens
St Helens have also maxed out their quota, signing Fiji international Waqa Blake for the 2024 season.
Warrington Wolves
