Sky Sports Pundits Criticize Hull FC’s Prospects Ahead of Leeds Rhinos Clash
Sky Sports pundits, Sam Tomkins and Jon Wilkin, have offered a scathing assessment of Hull FC’s prospects ahead of their crucial clash with Leeds Rhinos this weekend. The Airlie Birds have struggled mightily this season and are currently without a permanent head coach, with Lee Briers and Brian McDermott reportedly in the frame for the role.
Tomkins and Wilkin expressed little optimism for Hull FC’s chances, with Tomkins predicting a heavy defeat at the hands of Leeds.
“I think Leeds will respond, for Hull FC there’s no sign of them getting any better. Zero sign. I’m just not seeing anything positive. I’ve not seen anything positive all year. On top of that, they’ve lost the coach. They’ve brought Richey Myler in, and they’ve not got a new coach yet. I just can’t see how it gets any better for the Hull FC.” Tomkins concluded by forecasting a 40-point win for the Rhinos.
Wilkin also weighed in, suggesting that the young Hull FC side, led by interim coach Simon Grix, is being forced to learn on the job due to a shortage of experienced players. The Black and Whites have been hit hard by injuries, particularly in the halves, with marquee signing Nu Brown recently departing for Australia.
As for Leeds, they too are facing their own injury concerns, with winger David Fusitu’a set to miss two months of action. The Rhinos have been in poor form themselves, but will be hoping to bounce back against the struggling Hull FC this weekend.
