Ryan Hall Returns to Leeds Rhinos: Not Just a Fairy Tale Comeback

Veteran Winger Ryan Hall Dismisses “Fairy Tale” Narrative Ahead of Leeds Rhinos Homecoming

Former Leeds Rhinos star Ryan Hall has firmly rejected suggestions that his return to the club for the 2025 Super League season is a mere “fairy tale” or ceremonial farewell. The 36-year-old winger, set to celebrate his 37th birthday later this year, has signed an initial one-year contract to rejoin the Rhinos, the club where he made his name over a decorated 12-year spell.

After leaving Leeds in 2017 to join the Sydney Roosters, Hall is now relishing the opportunity to come full circle and finish his illustrious career at Headingley. However, the veteran insists he is under no illusions about the challenge that awaits, emphasizing his desire to make a meaningful contribution to the team rather than simply coasting through a ceremonial last hurrah.

“People might be saying it’s a fairy tale but this is not a parade for me,” Hall told the Leeds Rhinos website. “I have got work to do and I still feel I have got good rugby in the legs.”

The seasoned campaigner acknowledged Leeds’ ambitions to reclaim their place at the top of the Super League, and he is eager to utilize his wealth of experience to aid the development of the club’s promising young talents.

“It’s time to roll my sleeves up and I am coming to a job,” Hall declared. “I was fortunate to be a part of teams that gave some of my team mates incredible finales to their career and I know how much hard work that takes to achieve.”

During his time at Hull KR, Hall relished the opportunity to mentor and guide up-and-coming players such as Mikey Lewis, and he is determined to replicate this success at his hometown club.

“I am looking forward to working with the young players at Leeds, as I have done at Hull KR and passing on my knowledge, not just to the wingers but anyone who wants to learn from what I have done in my career.”

With his playing career drawing to a close, Hall will also take up a role at the Rhinos once he hangs up his boots, ensuring his enduring connection with the club he has cherished throughout his illustrious career.
