Ryan Hall Breaks Super League Try-Scoring Record in Hull KR Victory

Hull KR Extend Impressive Home Form with Dominant Win over Huddersfield Giants

On Friday night, Hull KR extended their impressive home form with a 32-6 victory over Huddersfield Giants. It was a record-breaking night for winger Ryan Hall, who scored a brace to become Super League’s all-time leading try-scorer. However, the Robins’ win was not without its concerns, as they suffered several injury setbacks that could impact their upcoming matches and potentially England’s national team prospects.

The match started slowly, with the score locked at 6-6 after Esan Marsters’ 80-meter intercept try for the visitors. But Hull KR took control in the final ten minutes of the first half, with Tyrone May setting up tries for Peta Hiku and himself to give the home side a comfortable lead.

The second half saw Hull KR pull further away, with Matt Parcell and another Hiku try extending their advantage. Ryan Hall then capped off the night by breaking the Super League try-scoring record with two late scores, after Huddersfield’s Andre Savelio had been sent off.

Despite the comprehensive victory, Hull KR suffered some concerning injuries. Second-rower James Batchelor, who has been in impressive form this season, left the field in the first half with a suspected hamstring strain. Coach Willie Peters admitted Batchelor is unlikely to be fit for next week’s clash with Castleford Tigers, potentially dashing his hopes of an England call-up at the end of the month.

There were also worries over hooker Jez Litten, who was substituted in the second half. However, Peters allayed those concerns, explaining that Litten’s substitution was tactical before being impacted by Batchelor’s injury.

As Hull KR head into the Challenge Cup break on the back of this dominant home win, they will be hoping their injury concerns are not too serious, especially with regards to Batchelor and his potential England involvement.
