Castleford Tigers Facing Tribunal Charges Ahead of Challenge Cup Clash
In a major setback for the Castleford Tigers, forward Sylvester Namo has been charged with a Grade F offence following their recent Challenge Cup defeat to Wigan. The hefty charge, which carries a lengthy suspension, will be heard by a tribunal on Tuesday evening.
Namo’s alleged dangerous contact incident during the first half of the Tigers’ heavy loss on Sunday afternoon has drawn the attention of the disciplinary authorities. If found guilty, the player is looking at a ban of at least five games.
But Castleford are not alone in this matter, as the Challenge Cup has seen several other players facing tribunal charges. Catalans Dragons’ Bayley Sironen is also in hot water, having been charged with a Grade E Head Contact offence after their loss against Huddersfield Giants.
Elsewhere, Hull KR will be without forward Sauaso Sue for their upcoming fixture, as he was charged with Grade B Dangerous Contact following their victory against Leigh Leopards in the quarter-finals of the Challenge Cup. Sue has until midday tomorrow to decide whether to appeal the one-match penalty.
“This latest news adds an extra layer of intrigue and drama to the ongoing Challenge Cup proceedings, as teams navigate the disciplinary minefield in their pursuit of glory. Rugby league enthusiasts eagerly await the outcomes of these high-stakes tribunal hearings, which could significantly impact the fortunes of the clubs involved.”
