Rugby League Prodigy Tesi Niu Attracts Super League Interest
Dolphins centre and Tongan international Tesi Niu has emerged as a potential target for Super League clubs, as the 22-year-old nears the end of his current contract with the NRL club.
With the transfer market stirring on both sides of the world, NRL players and their management are exploring opportunities in the top-flight English competition for 2025 and beyond. Niu, who has over 50 NRL appearances under his belt since debuting for Brisbane in 2020, is one such player generating interest from across the pond.
“Capable of playing fullback, wing, or centre, Niu joined the Dolphins ahead of their inaugural NRL season last year, making 17 appearances and scoring five tries. The club’s CEO, Terry Reader, had previously highlighted Niu’s promising future, stating that the young Queenslander has a long career ahead of him in the game.”
However, as Niu’s contract with the Dolphins expires at the end of the current season, Super League clubs have taken notice of his potential availability. The Tongan international, who has featured in three Tests, including two appearances at the 2022 Rugby League World Cup, is now on the radar of top-flight English teams seeking to strengthen their squads for the coming years.
