Rugby League Player Ese’ese Under RFL Investigation

Rugby League: Ese’ese Subject of RFL Investigation After Complaint

In a recent Super League match, Hull FC prop Hermane Ese’ese has become the subject of a Rugby Football League (RFL) investigation following an allegation of verbal abuse made by a London Broncos player.

The incident occurred during the Black and Whites’ defeat to the Broncos on Sunday afternoon in the capital. Referee Chris Kendall subsequently put the matter on report during the game.

RFL Investigation Underway

After the Match Review Panel assessed the situation on Monday morning, they have decided that a formal investigation will be launched to gather more information.

At this stage, there is insufficient evidence to even charge Ese’ese with any offence, let alone suspend the prop. The RFL will now reach out to the London Broncos, requesting any additional evidence that may support the initial complaint made on the field.

If the Broncos provide further evidence, the RFL will then approach Hull FC and Ese’ese, seeking their account of the incident. This information will then be presented at next Monday’s Match Review Panel, as the matter is considered an on-field issue.

The panel will then determine whether to proceed with the case to a tribunal. If found guilty, Ese’ese could face a significant suspension, which would be a major blow for the struggling Hull FC side.

Ese’ese’s Impact on Hull FC

Ese’ese, who joined from the NRL, has been one of the few bright spots in an otherwise disastrous 2024 season for the Black and Whites. However, the outcome of this investigation could see the prop sidelined for a crucial period, pending the evidence and findings.
