Rugby League Update: George Could Return This Week for Robins
In a promising development, the Robins’ star player George is quickly recovering from his injury and could potentially make a return this week. As revealed by the team’s coach, George’s initial recovery timeline of 6 weeks is now looking like it might be accelerated.
“George has come on quicker than what we expected, which is great news,” the coach stated. “He’s a possibility for this week, we’re not sure yet. We’ll give George to the end of the week to pass everything that he needs to, and then he’s a possibility of playing this week. If not, it’ll be next week.”
The coach further elaborated, “We’re not sure and we’ll finalize more. We’ll speak to the players around what the team looks like on Thursday. Usually we’d sort of have a better idea earlier in the week, but George is a possibility.“
Originally expected to return in Round Ten or Eleven, George’s remarkable recovery has opened up the chance of an earlier comeback. The coach praised the player’s resilience, describing him as “a warrior” who knows how to play through pain.
“George is one of those players that hasn’t had too many [injuries] over the years. He plays week in, week out, obviously knows how to play through being hurt. Being hurt and being injured is two different things. Some players can’t play when they’re hurt. George certainly can. He knows how to handle pain.“
The team’s medical staff have also played a crucial role in expediting George’s recovery, with the coach acknowledging their hard work in getting him to this stage. However, the coach cautioned that the final decision will hinge on ensuring George is mentally ready to take the field.
Regarding another player, Jordan Abdull, who is on loan from Hull KR, the coach revealed that he has a hamstring issue and the severity is still unknown. He assured that the player’s parent club, Catalans, will look after his rehabilitation.
As the Robins prepare for their upcoming match, the potential return of their star player George has undoubtedly boosted their chances and provided a much-needed morale boost for the team and its supporters.
