Rugby League News: Denive Balmforth Joins Swinton Lions on Loan
In a continued effort to provide valuable playing time for its young talents, Hull FC has sent another player on loan to the Championship. This time, it’s 20-year-old hooker Denive Balmforth, who will join Swinton Lions for a month-long spell.
Balmforth, hailing from Leeds, stands at 5 feet 11 inches and can play at hooker or loose-forward. The promising youngster made his Super League debut for Hull FC back in 2014 and spent time on loan at Newcastle Thunder in 2023.
“Swinton Lions, in their statement, expressed their delight in securing Balmforth’s services, acknowledging the support from Hull FC in facilitating the loan move. The club believes the experience will greatly benefit the young player’s development as he looks to sharpen his skills and learn the trade in the Championship.”
Balmforth’s loan move marks the fourth Hull FC player to join a Championship side this month, following in the footsteps of Liam Tindall (Bradford Bulls), Jayden Okunbor (Bradford Bulls), and Franklin Pele (York Knights). These loan deals provide valuable playing time for the players as they aim to transition seamlessly into Hull FC’s first-team squad.
