Rugby league fans are often fixated on attendance figures, using them as a metric to gauge the strength and popularity of the sport in different regions. Hull KR, in particular, have faced scrutiny from rival fans for not always publicly sharing their attendance data. However, the club has now confirmed that they have sold out Craven Park in each of their last five home games dating back to last season.
For those seeking hard data, the club’s Supporter Council meeting minutes have revealed the impressive attendance numbers Hull KR have recorded so far in 2024. The figures make for very positive reading for the rugby league community.
Prior to the recent Hull derby, which was also a sellout, the club reported attendances of 9,879 for the home clash with Leeds Rhinos and 9,524 against Warrington Wolves. Continuing their impressive run, Hull KR have now confirmed that their upcoming game against London Broncos this week has also sold out, marking the sixth consecutive home fixture with a packed-out Craven Park.
“Over 10,000 home tickets sold for Friday night! We are heading for our sixth home league sellout in a row ๐๐ Less than 100 places remaining โ secure your place now ๐ https://t.co/5XbOq7Vcr8#UpTheRobins๐ดโช๏ธ”

These consistent, high-attendance figures, coupled with the team’s on-field performance, suggest that Hull KR may have now established themselves as the biggest rugby league club in the city. However, the stadium’s capacity limitations appear to be the only factor preventing even higher attendance numbers, a situation that could soon change.
According to Chief Operating Officer Craig Franklin, “Every single space was taken, the variance in numbers is the away support. We’ve seen some comments on social media around empty seats for sold-out games, especially with Thursday night games, we do see some members not attend so of course the seat would be empty. But the places have been sold.”
The club’s leadership is clearly focused on continued growth, as evident from the comments made by Chief Executive Paul Lakin. “Within the sport itself there is no one with as much growth as we’ve had, but we recognize that with our growth brings growing pains. How can we grow again next season? The cost for stand extensions are astronomical โ it would take 10 years to recoup the expenditure, so we are exploring all options.”
Lakin also revealed that the club is looking at possible East Stand extensions, as well as exploring temporary seating options around the stadium to accommodate the growing demand. “We are looking at all options, the cost would be in the millions and significantly higher than anticipated/previous work. We are also looking at temporary seating around the stadium,” he said.
With the upcoming game against London Broncos confirmed as another sellout, and a rematch of the Challenge Cup final against Leigh on the horizon, it seems that Hull KR are well on their way to posting yet another impressive attendance figure, further solidifying their status as the fastest-growing club in rugby league, as suggested by Chief Executive Lakin.
