England Internationals Shine in NRL Round 14
In the latest round of the NRL season, the performances of two England internationals have caught the attention of rugby league fans.
In South Sydney Rabbitohs’ 46-12 win over Gold Coast Titans, powerhouse Tom Burgess delivered an impressive display, racking up 149 metres from 14 carries, with 66 of those metres coming post contact. The Dewsbury-born forward also made 21 tackles, with an impressive tackle efficiency of 91 per cent, and even got on the scoresheet for the second time this season.
Over at the Newcastle Knights, Kai Pearce-Paul, the former Wigan Warriors star, played the full 80 minutes as his side fell 36-28 to Melbourne Storm. Pearce-Paul, who hails from London, made 35 tackles with a tackle efficiency of 89 per cent, and he was one of only four Newcastle players to achieve that tackle count. He also made 66 metres from eight carries, provided an assist, and broke two tackles.

Elsewhere, Huddersfield-born prop Max King was solid in the Bulldogs’ 22-18 win over the Eels, making 115 metres from 11 carries and 34 tackles in his 55 minutes on the field.
This week’s NRL action also saw the Dolphins (Herbie Farnworth), Sydney Roosters (Dom Young, Victor Radley), and Canberra Raiders (Morgan Smithies, Elliott Whitehead) have the bye.
