Mikey Lewis Solidifies Allegiance to Hull KR Amid Jack Brown’s Switch
It’s evident that Mikey Lewis’s loyalty lies firmly with the red and white side of Hull, as he once again demonstrated on social media following Jack Brown’s move to Hull KR.
Brown has traded Hull FC for the Robins, with Yusuf Aydin heading in the opposite direction. This transfer brings a lifelong Rovers fan, Brown, to Craven Park – and Lewis wasted no time in making his stance on the rivalry between the two clubs crystal clear.
Sharing Hull KR’s initial photos of Brown in a Rovers training kit on his Instagram story, Lewis accompanied the post with a message that would have surely elicited a chuckle from Robins supporters: “Another seen the bright side of the city 😍“.
This is not the first time Lewis has attempted to rile up Hull FC fans. The England international has become notorious for his antics on the field during Hull derbies, and he made his loyalties abundantly evident during the Good Friday clash between the sides.
Although Lewis was once a boyhood FC supporter, it’s evident that he has firmly switched allegiances now. Earlier this year, he told Love Rugby League:
“Being a local lad from just off Anlaby Road, the Hull derby is huge for me and my family. These are the games you always look for first when the fixtures get released because it means so much.
“The rivalry splits my family but it’s good because the banter flows in derby week. They know I’ve got a job to do and that my Black and White days are done. I’ve put them to bed and you can put them in a grave if you want because I’m not really bothered about them. But yes, it divides my family.”
With this latest display of unwavering support for Hull KR, it’s crystal clear that Mikey Lewis is a bonafide red and white through and through.
