Leopards Roar to Victory Over Warrington Wolves
On a pulsating night at Leigh Sports Village, the Leigh Leopards laid down a marker for their play-off intentions with a hard-fought 16-12 victory over the Warrington Wolves.
The Leopards, one of the form teams in the competition, have now won eight of their last nine matches, climbing two places up the ladder into fifth position, surpassing St Helens and Catalans Dragons.
The game was not without its talking points, with the early dismissal of Warrington’s key prop Paul Vaughan for a shoulder charge to the head of Leigh’s Owen Trout proving to be a significant blow for the visitors. The Wire now face a nervous wait as the match review panel convenes on Monday to assess the incident.

On the individual front, Leigh winger Josh Charnley continues to close in on Super League’s all-time try-scoring records, now sitting just two tries behind second-placed Danny McGuire and only eight behind the record holder, Ryan Hall.
Warrington’s Cai Taylor-Wray, filling the void left by the injured Matt Dufty, has taken to Super League with impressive composure and pace, showcasing his potential as a talented young fullback.
