In the interview, Amone acknowledged that he is still in communication with his current club, Leigh, and has not yet received any formal offers. “I’m not sure about what’s happening,” he said. “I’m still waiting for my manager. I’ll just give it a few more weeks and see what my options are. I’ll just wait and see. Nothing’s been offered. I’m just taking it week by week and hopefully I can put a few good performances in. [There is] still some communication there [with Leigh].”
Reports from Australia suggest that several NRL clubs have been impressed with Amone’s form during his time at Leigh and are interested in bringing him back to the southern hemisphere. However, the future of Amone’s tenure at Leigh remains uncertain, as the club faces a significant player turnover, with the impending departures of John Asiata, Oliver Holmes, and Zak Hardaker.
