Rugby League Powerhouse Leigh Leopards Offer Star Player Lachlan Lam Lucrative Long-Term Contract
In a bold move to secure their future, the Leigh Leopards have presented Lachlan Lam with a tempting new long-term contract in an effort to keep the talented half-back at the club beyond the current season, Love Rugby League can reveal.
Lam, the Papua New Guinea international, has emerged as one of the most sought-after players in the Super League, with his existing deal still having a year left to run. Rumors suggest his current contract may contain a clause allowing him to explore other opportunities in the league at the end of this season, sparking interest from several clubs, including Hull FC.
“Determined to retain their prized asset, the Leigh management have decided to take decisive action. They have tabled a substantial three-year deal to Lam and his representatives, underscoring their commitment to build the team’s future around the dynamic half-back.”
Lam has held discussions with the Leopards in recent days regarding the prospect of re-signing and cementing his long-term future with the club. While a potential return to the NRL would likely be included as a clause, this new offer from Leigh would eliminate any doubt over his Super League options.
If Lam ultimately agrees to the deal, it would be a major boost for the Leigh Leopards as they prepare to rebuild their squad for the 2025 season. The half-back would then form a formidable spine alongside new recruit David Armstrong, as well as established stars Matt Moylan and Edwin Ipape.
Although Lam’s father, Adrian Lam, has refrained from publicly discussing his son’s future, the Leigh Leopards have made their intentions clear – they are determined to keep the talented playmaker at the club and are willing to invest heavily to ensure his long-term commitment.
