Rugby League Update: Leigh Leopards Explore Potential Swap Deal with Hull FC
As the Super League season enters its crucial phase, Leigh Leopards boss Adrian Lam has revealed discussions are underway around a potential swap deal involving Hull FC’s Darnell McIntosh and Leigh’s Tom Briscoe.
According to reports from Hull Live, the two clubs are in talks, with Briscoe potentially returning to the MKM Stadium, where he made 147 appearances between 2008 and 2013 at the start of his career. The Leopards have already completed one piece of business, with Ireland international Ed Chamberlain joining FC from the Leopards on a one-month loan.
“I’m a fan of McIntosh, and discussions will take place later today.”

Briscoe, who joined Leigh ahead of last season and has made 34 appearances for the club, is currently sidelined with a calf problem but is nearing a return to full fitness. Lam has acknowledged the speculation surrounding the potential swap deal, stating he is a “fan of McIntosh” and that discussions will take place later today.
Leopards’ Recruitment Plans
The Leigh boss also provided an update on the club’s broader recruitment plans, emphasizing that the Leopards are always open to strengthening their squad and “listening and opening their ears to the talent that’s available.” Earlier this season, the club brought in Brad Dwyer on loan from Warrington Wolves, a deal that was later made permanent.
Lam remains focused on the task at hand, with his side set to face a tough challenge against Catalans Dragons in Round 9. Despite their struggles so far this year, the Leopards boss is confident that the team’s recruitment efforts will help them take the next step towards success.
