Rugby League News: Leigh Leopards Gear Up for Clash Against Catalans Dragons
Leigh Leopards head coach Adrian Lam has provided an injury update ahead of his side’s game against the Catalans Dragons this weekend. The Leopards are looking to bounce back on Saturday after being nilled against Hull KR in the last round of Super League action. However, they had previously gone four games without defeat, and seem to be in a good place at the moment, certainly compared to their nightmare-ish start to the campaign.
For the upcoming match, Lam revealed that a few players could be back in contention, including Matty Davis and Gaz O’Brien. Robbie Mulhern and John Asiata are also nearing a return, potentially for the Leeds or Wigan games. The return of these key players will be a significant boost for the Leopards, who have been decimated by injuries in the early stages of the season.
Regarding Mulhern, Lam stated that the prop’s calf injury has healed faster than expected, and he could be available for the Wigan game or the international break. Similarly, Asiata, the club captain, is also progressing well and may feature in the coming weeks.
“The Leigh Leopards faithful have been incredibly supportive, with the team’s upcoming match against the Catalans Dragons seeing a significant number of away fans. The huge demand for tickets has forced the French club to halt sales to away supporters, fearing they might lose their home advantage.”
Lam praised the Leopards’ fans, stating that their incredible support will be a great motivation for the team to perform well in Perpignan.
The Leopards will be determined to capitalize on the “home game advantage” and secure a positive result against the Catalans Dragons, as they look to bounce back from their recent setback and build on their recent positive performances.
