Leeds Rhinos’ Humiliating Defeat by Hull FC: Analysis by Jon Wilkin

Struggling Leeds Rhinos Suffer Humiliating Defeat Against Hull FC

In a disappointing turn of events for the Leeds Rhinos, the team suffered an 18-10 defeat against Hull FC in their latest Super League outing. The loss marks a new low point in the Rhinos’ underwhelming season so far.

Despite Hull FC’s poor run of form, having lost 11 consecutive games across all competitions, they proved too strong for a struggling Leeds side that never looked like securing the victory. Former Hull KR, St Helens, and Toronto Wolfpack forward, Jon Wilkin, who is well-versed in facing off against the Rhinos, has now identified the root of the team’s current on-field issues.

Speaking as a Sky Sports pundit, Wilkin singled out the Leeds pack as the main source of concern, branding them as “soft” and suggesting he would relish the opportunity to line up against them. Wilkin was particularly critical of Mikolaj Oledzki, stating he would “biff” the Leeds forward, confident that “nothing’s coming back” at him.

Wilkin, who was part of the St Helens side that regularly battled the Rhinos in Super League Grand Finals, believes the current Leeds team is a far cry from the dominant side of their “Golden Generation” that consistently lifted trophies. He went on to conclude that his former teammates would have easily “blown away” the Rhinos’ softened pack.
