RUGBY LEAGUE EXPERTS CAST DOUBT ON LEEDS RHINOS’ FORM AHEAD OF CRUCIAL RUN
Sky Sports pundit Kyle Amor has expressed concerns over Leeds Rhinos’ current form, suggesting they could stumble against the league’s bottom teams in their upcoming fixtures. With pressure mounting on head coach Rohan Smith, the Rhinos face a crucial stretch of games against Castleford, Hull FC, Leigh Leopards, and London Broncos – teams currently occupying the bottom three spots in the Super League table.
Amor believes Leeds’ inconsistent performances this season mean they are unlikely to secure the desired three wins from this favorable run of fixtures. “They’ve got to come away with three wins out of four in that group, but they don’t have any right at the moment to come out with three wins out of four,” the former St Helens forward stated. “They have been so far off it that it wouldn’t surprise you if they came out with just one.”
The Rhinos’ recent losses to Catalans Dragons and St Helens have sparked calls for Smith’s dismissal, with even long-time club loyalist Jamie Jones-Buchanan acknowledging the team’s concerning inconsistency. “I think they lost some altitude last night,” Jones-Buchanan said after the defeat to St Helens. “I think there have been moments where they’ve looked to be getting off the ground and building something, but they’re quite anomalous.”
With the pressure mounting and their upcoming opponents occupying the lower echelons of the league table, Leeds Rhinos find themselves at a critical juncture in their season. As the experts’ doubts linger, Smith will be desperate to steer his side towards a much-needed run of results to alleviate the growing concerns surrounding the club.
