Leeds Rhinos Considering Loan Move for Jack Sinfield to Boost Young Talent’s Development
The Leeds Rhinos are open to the possibility of allowing talented half-back Jack Sinfield to leave the club on loan, as confirmed by Head Coach Rohan Smith. This comes after Smith revealed that the Rhinos have already turned down several approaches for the young playmaker.
Sinfield is yet to make a Super League appearance this season, with Brodie Croft and Matt Frawley established as the starting halves for the Rhinos. The 20-year-old has been confined to the reserve grade, but his potential has not gone unnoticed.
“We’ve had a couple of enquiries but given the status of our squad of late, with a bunch of players unavailable due to injuries and longer-term concussions, we’ve had to put those on hold temporarily,” Smith told Love Rugby League. “However, we’ll revisit them in the coming weeks.”
When asked about Sinfield’s readiness for a maiden Super League outing, the Leeds coach was adamant that the youngster is more than capable. “In the last month or two, he’s grown in his performances in reserves, in training, and in his general confidence,” Smith said. “He’s still a young man, but he’s really progressed, and I feel he’s ready for that chance when it comes.”
Describing Sinfield as a “kid who is faultless,” Smith acknowledged that the young half-back’s eagerness for an opportunity could be served by a loan spell. “Whether Championship footy might help him for a period of time, he wants to play for the Rhinos and he’s eager to do that,” the coach said. “He’s prepared to be patient, but he’s also in a hurry, if that makes sense.”
As Leeds Rhinos continue to navigate their squad challenges, the potential loan move for Jack Sinfield could prove beneficial for the development of this promising young talent.
