Featherstone Rovers Forward Brad England Targeted by Keighley Cougars for 2025 Season
Featherstone Rovers forward Brad England is being pursued by Keighley Cougars as part of their ambitious plans for the 2025 season, according to a report from Love Rugby League.
England rejoined Featherstone at the start of this season, having previously been granted a release from Bradford Bulls on the eve of the 2024 campaign. This is his second stint with the Rovers, after an earlier spell earlier in his career. However, it appears the 25-year-old is set to move on once again next year.
Love Rugby League understands that the Cougars have identified England as a key target to bolster their pack, regardless of which division they find themselves in for the 2025 season.
Keighley are planning to run with an increased budget next year as they aim to secure promotion from League 1 and establish themselves in the Championship.
Cougars Strengthening Their Squad
Matt Foster’s side are currently joint-top of League 1 alongside big-spending Oldham, and are well-positioned to make a push for automatic promotion. The Cougars have already strengthened their squad significantly this season, bringing in the likes of Bradford duo Ben Blackmore and George Flanagan.
Now, another former Bradford player in the form of England could be the next to join the Keighley ranks in 2025 if they can finalize a deal for the Castleford academy graduate. England has been an integral part of James Ford’s Featherstone side since rejoining them at the start of the year, featuring in all their league and Challenge Cup fixtures and scoring five tries.
However, his future appears to lie away from the Rovers, with Keighley making him a priority target as they look to build a squad capable of challenging at the top end of the Championship in 2025 and beyond.
