Ahead of their upcoming Rugby League Challenge Cup quarter-final match against the Leigh Leopards, Hull KR head coach Willie Peters has opened up about the electric atmosphere expected at Craven Park.

The Robins will be hoping to avenge last year’s heartbreaking 17-16 defeat to Leigh in the Challenge Cup final at Wembley Stadium. Speaking to the media, the Australian coach discussed the anticipated crowd size for the highly-anticipated rugby league showdown.

“I think there’s 6,000 that were sold already. We’ve had some sellouts, six sellouts so far, in a row and it’d be nice to get another one,” Peters said, highlighting the impressive rugby league support the club enjoys at their home ground.

The coach acknowledged the financial challenges faced by some fans, noting:

“It’s difficult for fans isn’t it, because they pay for a season ticket and then it’s an additional cost on top of that, so it depends on people’s circumstances of whether they can come.”

However, Peters emphasized the unwavering support of the Hull KR faithful, stating:

“We know fans that are able to come will come and certainly the ones that aren’t, we know we’ve got their full support. So, we’ll get another good crowd regardless this week and they’ll have the same energy.”

The rugby league head coach went on to praise the unique atmosphere at Craven Park, saying:

“It’ll be the same environment for Leigh to come to and that’s what we love. We love playing at home for that reason.”

Peters’ comments underscore the crucial role that the club’s passionate rugby league supporters play in driving the team’s performances. With the team enjoying a strong run of form at home, the Robins will be eager to harness the electric atmosphere and secure a place in the next round of the Rugby League Challenge Cup.
